For its responsible forest management Van den Nagel has earned certificates from FSC and PEFC. The FSC quality mark stands for responsible forest management. And the PEFC quality mark is the independent quality mark promoting sustainable forest management. It is recognised worldwide. This certification is your assurance that our work promotes habitat-sustaining forest management and monitoring and inspection throughout the commercial chain, from the wood in the forest to the end user.

Our company has the recognised Dutch certification for qualified forest contractors (ErBo). This allows us to demonstrate that we work safely and show the proper concern for the environment and our employees. We are also VCA-certified and all our employees have a VCA certificate. Moreover, we are a member of the AVIH, the sector organisation for forestry contractors, whose core values we share.

Van den Nagel’s professional certification includes a RAL certificate for its work in Germany’s forests. Van den Nagel also holds a Better Biomass:2015 (NTA8080) certificate, which is used to demonstrate that the biomass produced meets the established criteria for international sustainability. This certificate is the perfect complement to FSC and PEFC certification.

All our certifications require that we are inspected once a year by the issuing body. The following aspects are examined: safety, environment and compliance with the requirements of timber traceability. These inspections are carried out in our offices and at our field sites.
